SINGER BIOGRAPHY:
Sille Gulette Bredesen Gullbekk is a Norwegian mezzo-soprano studying at the Royal College of Music, supported by the Mimi Opperby Award. Her passion for opera began at the age of six, when she joined the Norwegian National Opera’s Children’s Choir. There she gained extensive stage experience, appearing in major productions and performing roles such as La Princesse in L’enfant et les Sortilèges.
In 2016, Sille entered the young talent programme at the Barratt Due Institute of Music, where she studied with her longtime mentor, Solveig Kringlebotn, until the summer of 2025. During her time there, she performed in numerous opera scenes, including roles such as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte and Leonore in Fidelio.
Raised in a creative environment, Sille has developed a versatile musical background not only in classical repertoire, but also in jazz and musical theatre. She has also worked as an actor at Égal Theatre in Oslo, performing leading roles such as the title character in The Little Match Girl.
In the summer of 2025, Sille made her debut as Zerlina in Don Giovanni. Other recent performances include alto soloist in Handel’s Messiah, soprano soloist in Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem, and appearances at the Norwegian National Opera.
