SINGER BIOGRAPHY:

British Mezzo-Soprano Louisa Stuart-Smith made her Royal Ballet and Opera debut this Autumn singing in Handel’s Giustino in the Linbury Theatre and is an Alvarez Emerging Artist at Garsington Opera for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. Previously, she covered Dorabella in Teatro Lorenzo Da Ponte’s Cosí Fan Tutte in Vittorio Veneto, Italy. Her recent concert work as a soloist includes performances with the London Mozart Players, the Orpheus Sinfonia and the Carnegie Ensemble. Competition successes include First Prize in the Chris Treglown Foundation Awards, runner-up in the Maryland District of the Metropolitan Opera’s Laffont Competition, the Audience Prize in the Chartered Surveyors’ Vocal Competition and Runner-Up in the London Bach Society’s Bach Singers Prize Competition. Louisa is a graduate of Trinity College, Cambridge, where she held a choral scholarship and performed numerous operatic roles during her BA and MPhil studies of History of Art. Having graduated from the MPerf in Vocal Performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, she is finishing her studies at GSMD on the Artist Diploma under the tutelage of Yvonne Kenny and is grateful to be a Sidney Perry Foundation Scholar, Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors Scholar and a Josephine Baker Trust artist.
