SINGER BIOGRAPHY:

Georgia Mae Bishop is a mezzo-soprano described as ‘a performer with a strong vocal personality and stage presence’ (Opera Magazine), highlights include her debut with the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican in George Walker’s Mass, Il Pastore and Messanger (cover) in Orfeo for Garsington Opera, Ulrica in Un ballo in Maschera and Giovanna in Rigoletto for Opera Holland Park, Magdalene in Die Meistersinger for Saffron Opera Group, Flosshilde in The RhineGold for Birmingham Opera Company and Erda (cover) for English National Opera. Georgia graduated from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama’s Opera School after initial studies at Trinity Laban, won the inaugural Mastersingers Wagner Competition, 2nd Prize at The Wagner Society Singing Competition, and an Emerging Artist on the Institute of Young Dramatic Voices. Alongside performing Georgia is a tireless advocate for the Arts being accessible for all, especially on her home Island Jersey. In lockdown she commissioned a Song Cycle in Jèrriais, devised and delivered workshops in primary schools across the Island, and is currently Creative Director and librettist for Held in the Tide, a new co-created opera to be premiered at the Jersey Opera House in 2026 (music by Charlotte Marlow) commissioned by ArtHouse Jersey.
