Daniella Sicari is a dynamic Australian-British soprano known for her vibrant stage presence and vocal versatility. She trained at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and the Royal Northern College of Music. Daniella is passionate about new works and collaborative projects. In 2023 she premiered Closing Time by Ross Fiddes, a staged song cycle exploring life with dementia, and made her debut with Ensemble 10:10. The following year saw debuts with the London Sinfonietta and Pavilion Ensemble. With Bloomhouse Projects she has performed in bloom, featuring selections from Boulanger’s Clairières dans le Ciel alongside live painting, and Homegrown, celebrating new art-song collaborations between living Australian and British poets and composers. Recent highlights include Cinders/Maid Marian/Little Red in The Hive (RLPO), Norina in Don Pasquale (Longhope Opera & Diva Opera), and Maria in Maria de Rudenz (Gothic Opera). She has also appeared with Bergen National Opera, Waterperry Opera Festival and Leeds Lieder. Awards include the Joyce & Michael Kennedy Strauss Prize, the Elizabeth Harwood Prize, and the Opera Box Arts Leadership Award. A recent finalist in the Southbank Sinfonia Peter Hulsen Orchestra Song Prize, and she is currently supported by the Eugénie White Award (Tait Memorial Trust). Upcoming engagements include Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle with the RLPO, Annina in La Traviata with Haffner Orchestra, and Valencienne (cover) in The Merry Widow for Buxton International Festival.
