SINGER BIOGRAPHY:

Winner of the Loveday Song Prize at the 2024 Ferrier Awards, British soprano Charlotte Jane Kennedy is a member of The Royal College of Music International Opera School studying with Janis Kelly. Charlotte made her role debut as Vixen in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen this November at The Royal College of Music, having previously performed Susanna/Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Mistinguett/Weill’s Chanson des Quais and Maturina/Gazzaniga’s Don Giovanni Tenorio also at the RCM. Other roles include Giannetta/Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore for Garsington Opera, where she was an Emerging Artist and her international debut as Fiordiligi/Mozart’s Così fan tutte for the Da Ponte Opera Festival, Veneto. Experience in song includes being a Leeds Lieder Young Artist and Bloomsbury Festival New Wave Artist; a recital at the Wigmore Hall for the 2023/4 season with RCM colleagues; second prize in the AESS Patricia Routledge English Song Competition and first prize in the RCM Lieder Competition.   Charlotte is an Andrea Bocelli Foundation Community Jameel Scholar and is also kindly supported by the Drake Calleja Trust, The Wayne Sleep Foundation, The Josephine Baker Trust and Help Musician’s.
