SINGER BIOGRAPHY:

Alison Daniels studied music at Pembroke College Cambridge and singing at the Royal Northen College of Music where she held the Frances Furness Scholarship. Based first in Manchester and more recently in Cambridge, she has established a career as a concert and consort singer, firstly as a soprano and, for the last eight years, as a mezzo. Alison made history as the first female lay clerk at Ely Cathedral, and now performs with groups such as Kantos Chamber Choir, luminatus choir as well as being a deputy in many London Churches. A regular recitalist; Alison’s love of song was influenced by an early encounter with Elly Ameling at a masterclass at Wigmore Hall, and she continues to develop and inform her repertoire both by keeping in touch with contemporary and undiscovered repertoire, and by beginning to commission pieces herself.
