SINGER BIOGRAPHY:

20-year-old soprano Tiana Esther Oberoi from Bangalore, India is a Big Give Scholar at the Royal College of Music in London, supported by Sir Alec and the Reed Foundation Trustees. Currently in her third year, she studies with Sarah Tynan and Gary Matthewman. A former pupil of The Purcell School and long-time student at Harmony – The Music School in Bangalore, she has built a growing reputation as a young artist. A semi-finalist in the 2024 Junior Ferrier Competition, Tiana won first place at the 2023 NATS National Student Auditions in San Diego, becoming the first Indian to do so. She has performed widely across India and internationally, including Westminster Abbey for Commonwealth Day celebrations, the Royal Opera House in Mumbai, and the Musikverein in Vienna. Most recently, she appeared at the Vienna Summer Music Festival, debuting the role of Venus in the new opera Pluto by Michael J. Polo at Ehrbar Saal, where she also served as cover for Musetta. As a soloist with the award-winning Harmony Chorus, directed by Sandra Oberoi, she has sung at Musiikkitalo in Helsinki, the Indian High Commission in London, St Giles’ Cathedral in Scotland, and Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, Russia. She has also performed on Indian national television and remains committed to using her music for social causes like mental health and climate change.
