Tamsin Sandford Smith is a soprano, currently studying for a PGDip at the RNCM, where she also completed her masters. Previously, she studied at The Queen's College, Oxford, where she was a choral and junior academic scholar. Tamsin studies with Linda Richardson. Most recently, Tamsin took part in the 2025 Young Artist programme with Flat Pack Music, where she appeared as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni. At the RNCM, Tamsin has performed the roles of Dessie (Despina) in Please God Make Me Ugly (new writing/Mozart), Geraldine in Barber's A Hand of Bridge, and Eleonora in Wolf-Ferrari’s Le donne curiose (scenes). While at Oxford she sang with the Gilbert and Sullivan Society, with roles including Aline (The Sorcerer), Princess Nekaya (Utopia Limited), and Casilda (The Gondoliers), for which she won 'Best Female Voice' at the 2022 Buxton International G&S UNIFest. She has held choral scholarships with Hampstead Chamber Choir and St Mary's Primrose Hill, and been part of the professional choir at St Mark's Regent’s Park. Tamsin is also passionate about widening access to music education. She previously trained with the TeachFirst programme, and currently works for Olympias Music Foundation, a music charity based in south Manchester.
