SINGER BIOGRAPHY:

Soprano Georgie Malcolm has recently completed her studies on the Guildhall’s Opera Course with Yvonne Kenny, having previously gained her MMus & PGDip with distinction from the Royal Northern College of Music. She is both a Samling Artist and an Opera Prelude Artist, was a Leeds Lieder Young Artist 2023, and was member of the Wigmore Hall’s French Song Exchange 2023. Her operatic appearances include the title role in Handel’s Alcina and Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus at the Guildhall, La Contessa in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro at the RNCM, and covering Marzelline in Fidelio for Garsington Opera this past summer. Georgie is gaining recognition across the UK as a concert soloist; oratorio highlights include Handel’s Messiah at the Royal Albert Hall with the Really Big Chorus and Haydn’s Harmoniemesse with the BBC Philharmonic at the Bridgewater Hall, later broadcast on Radio 3. Her secular concert repertoire includes Strauss’ Vier Letzte Lieder, Britten’s Les Illuminations and Mahler’s 4th Symphony. Georgie was awarded the Leach Award for Singing by London Choral Sinfonia for her oratorio and song singing in 2024, and received second prize at the National Mozart Singing Competition 2022, also winning their Schubert prize.
