SINGER BIOGRAPHY:

Welsh Soprano Carys Davies is studying her Master’s degree (MPerf) at The Royal College of Music, London as a scholar, studying under Professor Janis Kelly. Carys is an Ivor Llewellyn Foster Scholar at RCM and is generously supported by HelpMusicians and The Hywel Davies Trust. Carys made her professional operatic debut, touring the UK as ‘Second Young One’ in Welsh National Opera’s The Magic Flute (2023), directed by Daisy Evans and conducted by Paul Daniel. Carys graduated with a First Class BMus (Hons) studying at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with Suzanne Murphy. Recent engagements include the role of Chief Hen/Mrs Pasek in RCM’s 2025 The Cunning Little Vixen by Janáček. Additionally, RCM Opera Scenes, performing the role of ‘Bella’ (Tippet’s Midsummer Marriage) and ‘Dalinda’ (Handel’s Ariodante). Carys was a finalist in the 2025 Ashburnham English Song Competition, performing with Francesca Lauri. Carys recently was awarded 2nd Prize in the 2025 RCM Brooks van der Pump Song Competition.
