SINGER BIOGRAPHY:
Anya Andrisescu is a London-based soprano currently studying Music at King’s College London, specialising in performance and composition. Her passion for opera began with her debut in the chorus of Dido and Aeneas, an experience that inspired her to pursue singing professionally. She has since performed a diverse range of repertoire, including Maguelonne in Cendrillon, Soprano II in Le Roi d’Ys at Cadogan Hall, Almera in Dark Sisters, the Maid in Four Sisters, and chorus roles in The Saint of Bleecker Street and Little Women. She recently studied the role of Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana in Florence under Maestro Antonello Allemandi.
At King’s, she has refined her musicality through collaboration with Academy alumna Kirsty O’neill and through her participation in Morley College Opera School and various masterclasses, including with Eloise Lalley and Della Jones.
Alongside her solo work, she directs a small Orthodox women’s chamber choir and sings regularly at St Mary le Strand, further developing her musicianship. She looks forward to continuing her operatic training at conservatoire level.
