SINGER BIOGRAPHY:

Anna Pych is a Polish soprano currently in the final year of her Master’s degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where she studies with Wilma MacDougall. Her recent stage work includes the world premieres of Edward Jessen’s Syllable (Kael) and Plantation A… (A…), performed at the Grimeborn Opera Festival, Arcola Theatre, and Arnolfini Arts Bristol. On the concert stage, she has recently performed the soprano solo part in Handel’s Dixit Dominus and Bach’s Missa Brevis in A with the Edinburgh Royal Choral Union and Edinburgh Pro Musica Orchestra and was the first soprano soloist in Mozart’s Mass in C minor with the Scottish Chamber Choir, Calton Consort and The Meadows Chamber Orchestra. A driven recitalist, she is also regularly performing with her duo partner, pianist Eléna Esposito, with a strong focus on the 20th and 21st century repertoire. The duo was recently awarded 3rd place in the A Ramsay Calder Debussy Prize for Voice and the Norma Grieg French Song Prize at RCS. Passionate about making Polish vocal music more accessible, Anna is also developing resources for singers who want to explore the repertoire and hopes to encourage wider engagement with Polish composers and language.
