Opera Parents Discussion day (and party)
Friday 8 March 2019, 10:15-13:30 | St Margaret's Putney SW15 5HU, London
Supporting Mothers and Fathers...
March 8th marks the first birthday of SWAP’ra (Supporting Women and Parents in Opera). To mark this day, we’d like to invite all parents who work in the opera industry to join us for an informal chat and social gathering to celebrate our first anniversary, to fill you in on the work that we have been silently getting on with over the past year in the ‘parents’ strain of our work, and to hear your suggestions for how we can move forward and aid the opera industry in becoming more accessible for those with caring responsibilities.
The discussion part of this event will take place at 11.30am, but if you can join us before/after for tea and coffee and cake, it will be a lovely way to meet and chat with other opera parents, and to celebrate with us, our first birthday.
Children are of course welcome. There will be some toys and books there, but do bring a few to share. The event will wrap up by 1.30pm, so plenty of time to get away for school pick ups.
Really hope you can come along. We have lots to share with you, and are very keen to hear your feedback and ideas. And we think a year of SWAP’ra is worth celebrating.
